The Orange Alert is issued by the Meteorological Department when it is indicated to be prepared for the very adverse weather.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy cold wave in some parts of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana states for the next 3 days. The Meteorological Department has said, “Due to dry northern / northwest cold wave, the minimum temperature will remain below normal during most of the four-five days in most areas of northwest India, after which some parts of Punjab and Haryana There is a possibility of running cold wave. A strong cold wave is also expected to prevail in parts of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, North Madhya Pradesh for the next 3 days. At the same time, Orange alert has also been issued by the Meteorological Department for Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh from 13 to 16 January.
