Shehan Jayasuriya retired from Sri Lanka cricket

Colombo, 8 January (IANS) Top-order batsman Shehan Jayasuriya has retired from Sri Lanka cricket. Jayasuriya took this decision after her family decided to settle in the US.

According to the website ESPNcricinfo’s report, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has issued a statement giving this information.

Jayasuriya has played a total of 30 matches for Sri Lanka including ODIs and T20s. He scored 96 against Sri Lanka in Karachi, which is his highest score. He has played a total of 80 first-class matches between 2009 and 2020. During this time, he has averaged 42.

He recently participated in the Lanka Premier League which ended in December -2020. He played for the Gaul Gladiators in the tournament.
