Shakib gets a place in Bangladesh team for Windies Series

Dhaka, 4 January (IANS) All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been selected by Bangladesh in their preliminary squad for the ODI series with the West Indies.

Former captain Mashrafe Mortaza has not found a place in the 24-member ODI squad.

Shakib was banned for two years by the ICC for violating anti-corruption rules. His ban expired on October 29 last year. Shakib was mostly in the US during the ban.

The one-day series against the Windies starts on January 20. The first two matches of the series will be played in Dhaka while the third match will be played in Chittagong on 25 January.

After this, both teams will play a two-Test series. The first Test will start in Chittagong on February 3, while the second Test will start in Dhaka on February 11.
