Ravindra Jadeja suffered injury, went for scan

Sydney, 9 January (IANS) India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja has suffered a left thumb injury and has been taken for a scan. The BCCI gave this information on Saturday.

The BCCI said in a statement, Jadeja suffered a left thumb injury during the batting. He has been taken for a scan.

Jadeja was hit by Mitchell Starc. However, he started batting after receiving treatment after bowling. He has not bowled during Australia’s second innings.

Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal came to Fielding from time to time in place of 32-year-old Jadeja.

For India, the series of injuries has not stopped. Rishabh Pant was injured while batting in the same match. Wriddhiman Saha is wicket-keeping in his place. Pant was hit by Pat Cummins in the elbow. They have also been taken for scan.

Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav have been ruled out of the series due to injury before this Test match.

Jadeja had taken four wickets in the first innings and ended Steve Smith’s century with a brilliant throw.
