The ICC said in a statement on Sunday that Penn was found guilty of violating Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct relating to players and players’ support staff. Apart from this, a demerit point has also been added to his account. This is Penn’s first mistake in the last 24 months.
The ICC further said that Penn has accepted the fine and that no formal hearing will be required against him in this matter.
Penn disagreed over the umpire’s decision after DRS ‘failure against Cheteshwar Pujara in the 56th over of India’s first innings.
