Our good preparation against speed and bounce in Gaba: Rathore

Brisbane, 14 January (IANS). Indian team’s batting coach Vikram Rathore said on Thursday that his team has prepared well to cope with the pace and bounce at the Gabba.

India are scheduled to play the fourth and final Test match with Australia at the Gabba ground in Brisbane from Friday, where the bounce and pace in the wicket is expected.

Rathore said on the eve of the match, “We have got a lot of time to prepare for this tour.” We were here early and we got lots of practice sessions too. As I said earlier we made really good preparations.

He said, there will be more bounce in this wicket. You expect more bounce and speed here. After playing well and playing well for so many days now, the belief is that the boys will be able to handle it well and I am sure of it.

Australian captain Tim Paine said on the pitch that he had not yet inspected it, but expected more speed and bounce here.

Penn said, of course I was expecting it. However, I have not yet inspected the pitch. I think Test Cricket Gabba’s wicket has been fantastic so far. It is a great place to play Test cricket. I like to play cricket here.
