Khelo India Games of the year 2022 will be held in Bhopal

Bhopal, January 8 (IANS). It is good news for the sports industry of Madhya Pradesh that the Khelo India Games of the year 2022 will be held in Bhopal, its principle has been agreed by the Central Government.

Reviewing the works of Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said, It is a matter of pride for Madhya Pradesh that in-principle consent has been given by the Central Government to conduct the Khelo India Games of 2022 in Bhopal, soon. Approval will be received duly.

In the presence of Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Chief Minister Chouhan informed that Yoga has been included as a sport in the Khelo India Games 2021 by the Government of India. Vivekananda Yoga Centers will be established at the district level for the expansion of Yoga in the state. After this they will be expanded to the block level.

To further promote hockey in the state, Men’s Hockey Academy will be re-established in Bhopal and Women’s Hockey Academy in Gwalior. A martial arts academy is being built at TT Nagar Stadium. Shooting range will also be expanded in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that there is a plan to construct an international sports complex on 50 acres of land in Gwalior and a world-class sports science center in Bhopal. A variety of scientific methods will be adopted for the health of sportspersons at the Sport Science Center. There is also a plan to build world-class archery infrastructure in Ranjhi, Jabalpur. Sports Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said that sports academies of the state were started in the Corona period from August and it is a matter of pride for the state that Madhya Pradesh players earned 10 international and 40 national medals in the last five months. Have done.

A decision was taken by the Council of Ministers in the year 2019 regarding recruitment of players who won medals in the national and international competitions of Madhya Pradesh. The recruitment process will start after publication in the Gazette of the notification. At the same time, 9684 youth have been provided employment under various employment programs conducted by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare in the state.
