Jocharty, former manager of United, Scotland, dies at the age of 92

London, 1 January (IANS). Scotland football team and England football club Manchester United manager Tommy Docharty died on Thursday at the age of 92. His family gave this information in a statement. In his 27-year-long career, he coached 12 clubs.

The statement said, Tom moved in peace, his family around him at his house. He was a very loving husband, father. He will be greatly missed. We want our privacy to be taken care of at this time. No further comments.

Docharty, who played 300 matches as a player for Preston North End, was the manager of Scotland in 1971–72. He was however well known for working with Manchester United. He stayed with the English club from 1972 to 1977.

Manchester United said in a statement, “We are very sad to hear the news of Tommy Docharty’s death.” He won the club the FA Cup in 1977. Everyone in the club pays homage to Tommy.
