Abu Dhabi, 7 January (IANS). Ireland’s paceman David Denale has been ruled out of the four-match ODI series with the UAE. This series starts on Friday.
Cricket Ireland has confirmed this. Denale had complained of knee pain. The team management was informed of the injury on Monday, while the decision to send Denale home was taken on Wednesday.
Cricket Ireland has said that Delaney complained of pain in his left knee during practice on Monday. Even before this, his knee has been injured and in view of this, he has been asked to send home and conduct a detailed investigation.
He is replaced in the squad by Josh Little, who is arriving in the UAE on Thursday.
The four-match ODI series matches will be played on 8, 10, 12 and 14 January at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium here.
