India’s top rally driver Santosh Medically Induced Coma

Riyadh, 8 January (IANS) One of India’s top motorcycle rally drivers, CS Santosh, has been placed in a medically induced coma following an accident during the ongoing Dakar rally in Saudi Arabia.

Santosh’s Hero Motosport team has issued a statement saying that he is undergoing treatment at the Saudi German hospital. Santosh’s right shoulder slipped from his place in the accident and he also suffered a head injury.

Hero has said that the latest scan has revealed that there is no obstacle in the path of complete recovery of Santosh. The medical team has decided that he can be treated properly and he should do the least movement, so he is placed in an artificial coma.

They will be monitored for the next few days.

Santosh suffered an accident during Stage 4. In this stage, the driver of the hero Paul Goncalves died last year. The team immediately withdrew its name from the rally.
