Hyderabad reached number three after defeating Northeast by Colaco’s double

Vasco (Goa), 8 January (IANS). A superb two goals scored in the last minute by Super-Sub Liston Colaco helped Hyderabad FC to 4-1 in the seventh season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) match played at Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco Defeated

This is Hyderabad’s second consecutive win in 10 matches and their fourth overall win. The team has now reached third place in the table with 15 points. Goa also have 15 points, but Hyderabad have reached number three due to better goal difference.

Northeast have suffered their third and second consecutive defeat in 10 matches. The team is at number seven with 11 points. The Northeast, known as the Highlanders, has not won a single match in the last six matches.

With the goal of reaching the top-4, there was a thorn in the first half between Hyderabad and Northeast. Hyderabad took a 2–0 lead for the first 36 minutes, but the Northeast, known as the Highlanders, then scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to tie the score 2–2 until the first half ended.

In the second half, Colaco scored two goals in five minutes to give Hyderabad a 4–2 win.

Hyderabad started strongly in the first half and opened their account in the third minute to take a 1-0 lead. The goal for the team was scored by captain Ariadne Santana on the assist of Joel Chianese. This is Santana’s sixth goal of the season.

Northeast returned strongly after this, but could not distinguish Hyderabad Defense. In the 13th minute, Idrissa Silla missed a golden opportunity to equalize for the Highlanders. But Hyderabad continued their attack and then doubled their lead in the 36th minute. Chianese, who assisted in the first goal for the team, fired on Aakash Mishra’s assist.

After taking a two-goal lead in the match, it seemed that Hyderabad would end the first half with the same score. But in the 45th minute, Hyderabad midfielder Halicharan Narjare dropped Ashutosh Mehta inside the box and the referee gave a penalty to Northeast.

Federico Gallego converted the penalty into a goal and opened the account of the Northeast. It was only after Captain Gallego’s goal that Belgian defender Benjamin Lumbot scored a superb goal to bring the Northeast 2–2 up until the end of half time.

In the second half also, there was a thorny contest between the two teams, as in the first half. In the 60th minute, a shot from outside the box by Luis Machado of the Highlanders was saved brilliantly. Four minutes later, Hyderabad made the first of the match and then four minutes later, Northeast United made two consecutive changes.

Chianese then made two brilliant attempts in the 74th and then the 80th minutes, though both of them did not achieve success. But forward Colaco then scored two consecutive goals in the 85th and 90th minutes to give Hyderabad a 4–2 win of the season.

Forward Colaco scored the first goal on Ashish Rai’s assist. He then scored his second goal on the assist of captain Santana.
