First day’s game over, Australia 166 runs for 2 wickets

Sydney, 7 January (IANS) Thursday’s game ended on the first day of the third Test match between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The Australian team, batting first after winning the toss, has scored 166 runs, losing two wickets up to stumps.

By the end of the day’s play, Marnus Labushan has scored 67 and Steve Smith has scored 31 runs.

Will Pukowski, making his Australian debut, struck out 62 off 110 balls with four fours. On the other hand, Labushan has faced 149 balls and hit eight fours in his innings of 67 runs so far.

Mohammad Siraj and Navdeep Saini took one wicket each for India.

Due to rain, only 55 overs game was possible on the first day.
