D. Africa defeated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets

Johannesburg, 5 January (IANS). Hosts South Africa made a 2–0 clean sweep in the two-match Test series after beating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets on Tuesday in the second Test match here.

Sri Lanka scored 157 runs in their first innings and then South Africa scored 302 runs in their first innings to take a lead of 145 runs. In response, the Sri Lankan team could score only 211 runs in their second innings and set a target of 67 runs against South Africa.

South Africa achieved this target in 13 overs without losing any wickets. In his second innings for South Africa, Aiden Marquram scored an unbeaten 36 off 53 balls with four fours and Dean Elgar scored 27 not out off 27 balls with five fours.

Elgar, who played a brilliant century in the first innings, won the Man of the Match award. South Africa also won the first Test by an innings and 45 runs.
