Fatorda (Goa), 8 January (IANS). Things have probably not gone well for former champions Bengaluru FC in the seventh season of the Hero Indian Super League (ISL). For the first time in the history of Bangalore, ISL has posted a hat-trick of defeats and after this result, it is now separated from its head coach Carles Cuadort.
Bangalore FC interim coach Naushad Moosa, however, is hopeful that his team will return to their next match against East Bengal at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda on Saturday and get back on track.
Moses said, we have an important match tomorrow (Saturday). Players know this. This is the first time in the last seven years that we have lost three matches in a row. It is not easy to accept these. They want to come back and now we have to leave everything behind and concentrate on the next match.
East Bengal have been unbeaten for the last four matches and Moses feels that it will be a very interesting match.
He said, East Bengal is a good team. They are getting better. Bright (Inobakher) is a talented player. We will play more entertaining football. We can assure you of this. We rarely have a clean sheet. Our focus is on not eating round in the beginning.
This season, Bengaluru FC scored fewer goals under Cuadort’s guidance, but have seen an increase over the last few matches. The team has won only three matches in the last nine matches and has scored 12 goals.
Moses said, this is the part we are working on (not scoring much goals). We have seen all the videos. We think we were less attacking. We have to create more chances to score goals.
On the other hand, East Bengal held FC Goa to a draw despite playing with 10 players in their previous match. Bright Inobakher has scored two goals for his team in two matches so far and is expected to continue it in the next match as well.
This is a good time for me, Bright said. The player and staff are amazing. We just have to concentrate on the next match and try to take as many as we can. It remains to be seen where we are at the end of the season.
East Bengal will not get the services of their head coach Robbie Faller, who was warned for the second time in the previous match. Also their captain Daniel Fox will not be able to play in this match, who had to face red card against FC Goa in the last match. Harmanjot Khabra will also be out of this match.
