Ashwin bowling captain in Indian team: Ojha

New Delhi, 2 January (IANS) Ravichandran Ashwin’s experience and mentality make him the captain of bowlers in the Indian team. This is to say of former India spinner Pragyan Ojha.

Ashwin is the highest Test wicket taker in the current Indian team. He has 375 Test wickets to his name. He played an important role in helping India win in the second Test match played in Melbourne.

Ojha told Sports Today, Ashwin knows very well what he wants to do. He is not a new player. He has played in Australia and no longer needs to be confirmed. This is the most important thing for a player.

He said, once your heart is scared of being out of the team, it can be known by body language. You have to be a little careful about some things.

Ashwin has taken 10 wickets in the first two matches of the four-match Test series being played with Australia. He is the highest wicket-taker in the series so far. His biggest contribution has been that he has dismissed Steve Smith twice.

Ojha said, the player who has taken around 375 wickets, I think he can be a great strategist. But the only difference I see is that they are mentally present there. He thinks he has to do well for his team and is the bowling attack leader.

He said, he does not worry about the circumstances. Usually when you go to Australia as a new player you don’t know what the wicket will be like, whether the Kukabura ball will help you or not, Ashwin has gone ahead with all these things. He knows that no matter what the situation is, he has to deliver the results.
